Luxury Vinyl Flooring

What is luxury vinyl flooring?

Luxury vinyl has style and functionality. It can work in every room in your house. Kitchens, bathrooms, basements, living rooms, or bedrooms, vinyl can be the premium product you use. It is both formal and casual and will hold up well to wear and tear.

Planks and Tiles

Luxury vinyl flooring comes in two types, planks and tiles, also known as LVP and LVT. The planks can imitate natural hardwood floors. It comes in segmented planks that fit together with a lock and click system. You have a wide variety of woods to choose from: maple, oak, ash, and cherry, for example. These grains come in varying size planks that differ in widths. However, if wood is not your choice, you can go with tile or stone in LVT. Luxury vinyl tile is designed to look like porcelain or ceramic tile or stone or brick flooring. At first glance, they may not look like vinyl.

This is due to the advanced texturing technology that exactly reproduces tile, stone, or brick texture. The LVF looks like what it represents. Synthetic vinyl layers are pressed together in 8 millimeters thickness. There is a surface layer that protects against scuffing, scratching, and nicks. The flooring has a waterproof layer to its core because it comprises a standard construction material, PVC, that is wholly proofed against water.

Maintenance and Installation

LVF is a relatively low maintenance product. Daily sweeping and weekly cleaning is all you need to keep the floor looking new and fresh. The luxury vinyl plank and tile are connected with a click and lock system that creates a seal on the subfloor, protecting it. Padding can be added to the subfloor before installation, and this helps with noise reduction and cushioning. A vapor barrier can also be installed if there is some moisture present.
