Carpetime was started in 1975 by Al & Lola Ledebur. Their son Mark and his wife Karen moved to Grand Junction in 1999 and have since purchased the business. Al and Lola retired at the end of 2019, so now it’s Mark, Karen, and their sons Luke and Chase keeping the business, “Family owned and operated!”
Carpetime offers every type of flooring with the exception of jobsite finished hardwood. We are experienced in retail sales, property management, new home construction, and commercial projects. We offer a variety of purchasing options from wholesale (materials only) to full service (measure, estimate, install and warranty), and everything in between.

Meet the team
MARK
OWNER
Mark started in the flooring industry at the age of 16 working as an installer’s helper for Custom Floors during spring and summer breaks. In college he studied software engineering and went to work at TRW Space & Electronics managing computer networks for engineers building computer chips and circuit boards. He and Karen moved to Grand Junction in 1999 and purchased the business from his parents in 2001. As an owner/operator of the business Mark manages every aspect of operations from accounting, ordering, and inventory. He enjoys helping customers with their projects. His specialty is new home construction projects. His favorite product is any product that, “doesn’t cause a problem”.
KAREN
CO-OWNER
Prior to starting at Carpetime Karen worked primarily in non-profit management, organization development, and ministry. She has been a co-owner of Carpetime since 2001 and started working at the store in 2020. She enjoys working with her family, supporting our sales team, and making sure all the numbers add up right. Her specialty is helping people narrow down their choices. Her favorite product is Tuftex – Terra Linda. She loves it so much she put it in her house.
DEANNA
Deanna has been in the design industry since 1988 and the flooring industry since 2001. She loves helping her customers make selections for their homes. Tile design is her specialty, however she finds all the products we sell fun to work with.
CARLOS
Carlos has been in the flooring industry since 1991, and sales at Carpetime since September 2003. He enjoys interacting with people to help them meet their flooring needs. He enjoys the work atmosphere, his coworkers, and working with our installers. His specialties are communicating with customers and knowledge of the installation process. His favorite products are laminate flooring and ceramic tile.
LUKE
Luke has been in the flooring industry/family business since 2008. He can do a little bit of everything at the store, but his primary responsibility is managing our warehouse. This vital part of our business involves receiving materials from our suppliers, pulling and sending out materials for our installations, cutting carpet and vinyl, and keeping track of our large inventory. Luke maintains great relationships with our salespeople, installers, and suppliers as well as his team of assistants.
JEFF
Jeff has 35 years of experience in the flooring industry. Known locally for his expertise with all types of flooring, Jeff enjoys working with retail customers and builders. He values the relationships he’s developed over the years with these clients. Jeff’s favorite product is carpet.
HOLLY
Holly started at Carpetime when she was a teenager helping her mom with bookkeeping. Now she supports overall operations by helping order and inventory materials, costing jobs, calculating commissions, paying sales tax, billing commercial jobs, and helping manage the office. Holly’s favorite product is carpet.
