What the installed price includes

The flooring, standard installation, transitions between rooms, and haul-away of scraps. Removing your old floor, floor prep, stairs, and moving furniture or appliances are priced separately. Typical prices for each are listed below.

Why we usually recommend engineered hardwood here

Our dry, high-desert climate is hard on solid hardwood. Low humidity makes solid boards shrink, leaving gaps between them. Engineered hardwood has real wood on top over a stable layered core, so it handles the Grand Valley’s dry air with far less shrinking and gapping. If you do choose solid hardwood, we recommend boards no wider than 3¼".

Good, better, best

  • Good: a 3/8" engineered board with a thin real-wood veneer on top, at the most accessible price.

  • Better: a thicker top layer of real wood and wider planks. Grand Pacific, our best-selling hardwood line, falls here.

  • Best: premium species, the widest planks and the richest finishes, like California Classics’ Mediterranean collection.

  • Remove tile: typically $7.50 to $15.00 per sq ft, including grinding thinset, confirmed after a site walk

Projects outside the Grand Valley, including Mesa, Collbran, De Beque, Gateway, and Glade Park, add an installer trip charge of $2.67 to $3.00 per mile one way, per install day or vehicle. A measure fee may also apply, at the federal mileage rate round trip, and it’s credited toward your project if you go ahead with us.

Is engineered hardwood worth it?

For main living areas in a home you plan to stay in, many owners think so. It gives you the real look and feel of wood. If you want a wood look on a tighter budget, LVP or laminate cost much less.

Deposit and payment

A 50% deposit schedules your project and orders materials, and the balance is due when installation is complete. We accept cash, check, and all major credit cards. Prices shown are before sales tax, which applies to materials only. Because hardwood is special-ordered for your project, it’s non-returnable.
