How Much Does Luxury Vinyl Plank (LVP) Cost Installed in Grand Junction?

Luxury vinyl plank costs $5.80 to $12.85+ per square foot installed at Carpetime. A 500-square-foot area runs about $2,900 to $6,425+.

LVP prices at Carpetime

  • LVP material: $3.10 to $9.00+ per sq ft ($1,550 to $4,500+ for 500 sq ft)

  • Installation: $2.70 to $3.85 per sq ft ($1,350 to $1,925 for 500 sq ft)

  • Installed total: $5.80 to $12.85+ per sq ft ($2,900 to $6,425+ for 500 sq ft)

These are our own current prices, before sales tax. Premium lines with extra-wide planks or specialty looks can run above the high end. These prices are for a standard floating installation, where the planks click together over the floor instead of being glued down. Glue-down installation is different and is priced separately.

What the installed price includes

The flooring, standard floating installation, transitions between rooms, and haul-away of scraps. Removing your old floor, floor prep, stairs, and moving furniture or appliances are priced separately. Typical prices for each are listed below.

Good, better, best

We generally don't sell luxury vinyl with less than a 20 mil wear layer, so all three levels start there. What changes as you move up is the thickness of the core, the size of the planks, and the type of core: SPC (stone plastic composite), which is rigid and dense, or WPC (wood plastic composite), which is thicker and softer underfoot.

  • Good: a thinner SPC core in a standard 7" x 48" plank. Examples include Cali Builder's Choice, All-Star and Windansea. The Cali All-Star we keep in stock is 5.5 mm thick.

  • Better: larger planks or a step up in core, in either SPC or WPC. Cali Longboards, for example, is 8 mm thick in a 9" x 72" plank. Cali High Tide and Trestles also fall here.

  • Best: a thick WPC core, up to 12 to 14 mm, for the most solid feel underfoot. Examples include Cali Laguna, Legends and Longboards Icons, and COREtec Grande.

The wear layer is the clear protective top coat. When you compare two LVP quotes, ask about the wear layer and the product's thickness. Two floors both called "LVP" can be very different products.

Projects outside the Grand Valley, including Mesa, Collbran, De Beque, Gateway, and Glade Park, add an installer trip charge of $2.67 to $3.00 per mile one way, per install day or vehicle. A measure fee may also apply, at the federal mileage rate round trip, and it's credited toward your project if you go ahead with us.

Grand Valley note: concrete slabs

Many homes here sit on a concrete slab. Floating floors like LVP go over a 6 mil vapor barrier on concrete to keep moisture away from the new floor. Homes with a crawlspace or basement need different prep, and we account for that in your estimate.

Is LVP worth it over carpet?

In kitchens, baths, basements, entries, and homes with pets or young kids, yes. LVP handles spills and heavy wear far better than carpet. In bedrooms, carpet is still warmer, quieter, and less expensive.

Deposit and payment

A 50% deposit schedules your project and orders materials, and the balance is due when installation is complete. We accept cash, check, and all major credit cards. Prices shown are before sales tax, which applies to materials only.
