Sheet vinyl used to be the go-to hard surface for kitchens, bathrooms and laundry rooms. About ten years ago, it made up more than 60% of all resilient flooring sales. Since then, luxury vinyl plank and tile have taken over, and rigid-core LVP alone now accounts for more than half of the category. As demand for sheet vinyl has dropped, manufacturers have cut back, and we can no longer get sheet vinyl from Mannington, which was our main supplier. That limits how much sheet vinyl we can keep in inventory, but we still carry a selection and can special-order other patterns.
Sheet vinyl costs $3.00 to $12.20+ per square foot installed at Carpetime. A 500-square-foot area runs about $1,500 to $6,100+.

What’s in stock
We keep a selection of sheet vinyl patterns in stock on our vinyl rack, so you can see the actual material and often get it installed sooner. Other patterns are available by special order from Armstrong Flooring, Mohawk and Shaw Floors, and for commercial spaces from Aladdin Commercial, Philadelphia Commercial and Forbo, including Marmoleum.
What the installed price includes
The flooring, adhesive, standard installation, transitions between rooms, and haul-away of scraps. Removing your old floor, floor prep, stairs, and moving furniture or appliances are priced separately. Typical prices for each are listed below.
Underlayment over a wood subfloor
Sheet vinyl shows every bump underneath it, so it needs a smooth surface. Over a wood subfloor, that means new underlayment: CertiPly at $3.35 per square foot or Matrix at $3.70 per square foot, installed. Over a sound concrete slab, no underlayment is needed.

Projects outside the Grand Valley, including Mesa, Collbran, De Beque, Gateway, and Glade Park, add an installer trip charge of $2.67 to $3.00 per mile one way, per install day or vehicle. A measure fee may also apply, at the federal mileage rate round trip, and it’s credited toward your project if you go ahead with us.
Replacing old vinyl? Plan for an asbestos test
Older vinyl and its adhesive can contain asbestos. If we’re removing glued-down vinyl or sheet vinyl, it has to be tested before it comes up.
Is sheet vinyl a good choice?
For laundry rooms, bathrooms, and rentals, often yes. It installs with few or no seams, which helps keep water out, and it’s one of the most affordable hard surfaces. For main living areas, most homeowners today prefer the look of LVP.
Deposit and payment
A 50% deposit schedules your project and orders materials, and the balance is due when installation is complete. We accept cash, check, and all major credit cards. Prices shown are before sales tax, which applies to materials only.
