What Laminate Can You See at Carpetime’s Showroom?

Here’s what you’ll find in the laminate section at Carpetime, which brands we carry, and how we’ll help you choose.

The laminate brands we carry

Our laminate section has samples from Cali Floors, Engineered Floors, Mannington, Mohawk, National Flooring Products, Opulux and Quick-Step. You can also browse our laminate selection online.

Hybrid flooring

The laminate showroom is also where you’ll find our hybrid floors, including TrueTouch Evolv and Bering’s Weston collection.

Hybrid floors sit somewhere between laminate and luxury vinyl. Like laminate, they’re built on a wood-based core, which gives them a solid feel underfoot and a realistic wood look. But they’re designed to handle spills much better than standard laminate, closer to what people like about LVP. That makes them a good fit for living areas, kitchens and busy households with pets or kids, where you want the look and feel of wood with more protection against everyday messes.

Bering’s Weston collection has a high-density wood fiber core and is rated for 72 hours of protection against spills, splashes and pet accidents. TrueTouch Evolv is made almost entirely of wood, with no plastics, PVC or adhesives, and is designed to resist water.

Can you take samples home?

Yes. You’re welcome to take our sample boards home, so you can see how the floor looks in your own lighting and next to your cabinets, walls and furniture.

Do you keep laminate in stock?

We don’t keep laminate in stock. Once you’ve picked a style and color, we order it for your project. You can see the full range of laminates we can order on our laminate page.

Laminate or LVP?

This is one of the most common questions we get. Laminate often has a harder, more scratch-resistant surface and a very realistic wood look. Luxury vinyl generally handles water better, so it’s usually the safer pick for kitchens, bathrooms and basements. Some laminates are made to be water-resistant, so ask us which products are rated for the room you’re doing.

How we’ll help you choose

A salesperson will ask a few questions to narrow things down:

  • Which rooms are you flooring?

  • Do you have pets or kids?

  • Will the floor see water, like in a kitchen or bathroom?

  • What’s your rough budget?

From there, we’ll pull a handful of samples that fit.
