Why we recommend engineered, not solid, hardwood here

Our dry, high-desert climate is hard on solid hardwood. Low humidity makes solid boards shrink, leaving gaps between them. Engineered hardwood has real wood on top over a stable core, so it handles the Grand Valley's dry air with far less shrinking and gapping. That's why we recommend it instead of solid hardwood.

Good, better, best

  • Good: real wood at the most accessible price, in standard widths and popular colors.
  • Better: thicker wear layers, wider planks, and better warranties.
  • Best: premium species, the widest planks, and the richest finishes.

Is engineered hardwood worth it?

For main living areas in a home you plan to stay in, many owners think so. With proper care it can last 15 to 25 years or more and adds real wood's look and feel. If you want a wood look on a tighter budget, or for a rental, LVP or laminate cost much less.

Deposit and payment

A 50% deposit schedules your project and orders materials, and the balance is due when installation is complete. We accept cash, check, and all major credit cards. Prices shown are before sales tax, which applies to materials only.
